For the Future

For the Future

During the end of one of our English classes, Ma’am Maye told us about our new topic for our blog. It is about why I continue to study in Cavite National Science High School. It quite amused me because I already know the answer right after I heard the question.
It has been always my dream to study in Cavite National Science High School, my mother have already set my mindset to study in there. As a mere child, I only agree to everything she says.
Now that I am studying here, I have already experienced many problems in projects, assignments, time, money and lastly, RESEARCH. I now know that this school is really strict in terms of appearance, grades, behavior, and relationships that can affect the academic performances of the students.
But one thing is for sure, I continue studying here because I just can’t wait for the time where I will be able to put the name Cavite National Science High School in my resume. Isn’t that magical? Well, for me, yes it is. I can’t also afford to disappoint the expectations of my family that I will be able to graduate in this school.
Another question was asked by Ma’am Maye, it is about the institution shaping my personality. Honestly, it really does help me to shape up my personality. Before I enter this school, I was this careless and happy go lucky pupil but when I entered here, I felt like the need to be conscious of what you are doing and it’s product. It also improved my social skills and being able to cope up with different people and being active in clubs. Yes, I’m a proud Kamfilan vice president here!

A school is where we make good memories that would last forever so I believe that as long as I am studying in CavSci, good memories are meant to be made and shared with other people.

Heroes of the Battlefield

Heroes of the Battlefield

“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” – Joseph Campbell
The Fallen 44, 44 men who fought with their own bravery, courage and strength. They sacrificed their own lives for the sake of many people. Some may think that it is an absurd idea to die like that but for me, it is a great choice and that thing proved that they are truly heroes.
They do not want fame for what they did and at the same time, they also proved that anyone can be a hero of his own kind. They became heroes of their own stories and became an inspiration for many people specially their loved ones to keep moving on.
I believe that they truly deserve to be recognized as heroes. Heroes are not just determined by the amount of sacrifice and their strengths but it is what is inside a person. I salute each and every one of the Fallen 44. They have this strength to carry on fighting even though they knew that one of the consequences is to never see their families again. It is also because they fought for the benefit of our own country not minding of what it can brought about in their own lives.

Because of what they did, I can now call them, the Heroes of the Battlefield.

Inspiring a Nation

Inspiring a Nation

Our country, the Philippines, is filled with people with different religions. Some are Muslims, some are Buddhists, some are Born Again Christians, and some are Catholics. But recently, Pope Francis’ visit captured the hearts of different people of different genders and religions.
Me, as a Born Again Christian, I do not believe or support saints but I do respect the opinions of other people about saints. At first, I didn’t care about the visit of Pope Francis here in the Philippines for I will not attend any of his mass.
The news about his arrival filled the radio, television and it even became a topic in our classroom. I started to become curious of how influential Pope is. I started listening to the news about him and started to look at his pictures in the internet. There was one thing that caught my attention, his smile.
That radiant smile that I believe can change the mood of a sad person to be a happy person. It is like telling you to never give up and keep on moving forward, I can feel that it is an encouraging smile for everyone.
As a student, it will be forever in my heart and mind to encourage myself to be a part of the success of our nation. One of the reasons of it is I can say, the smile of Pope Francis. A smile of his can really inspire everyone can and can really inspire a nation.

“When you lose the capacity to dream, you lose the capacity to love,  and the energy of this love is lost.” – Pope Francis

Nightmare

Nightmare

It is a Friday night. A night where I’m supposed to have fun, sleep late and watch movies. But due to the loads and loads of activities, exercises, quizzes and tests from that day, I didn’t realized that I fell asleep the moment I laid down the bed with my uniform still on.
Then I had this very nasty dream, I once again entered the Gateway of School. As I entered, a man wearing a white shirt gave me a brooch with our school logo. Beside him was an old lady wearing a bright colored shirt and she told me that she will be my guide in this journey. As we move on the gateway, I saw students who lie on their backs and are exposed to the hot sunlight. I found out that they are the late-comers and that their punishment is to lie on their backs and be exposed in the sunlight triple the time that they are late.

The Circles

1st Circle – Indolent
The people who are in this circle are those who are lazy of studying and doing their assigned tasks, for example, cleaning their assigned area. The punishment for those who are lazy of studying is that they have to take multiple of exams until they cannot handle it anymore. While the punishment for those who are lazy to do their assigned tasks, like cleaning, is to clean their place repeatedly because it keeps getting dirty no matter what clean they do, if they fail to clean it, they are forced to eat grass.

2nd Circle – Trash Thrower
The people who are in this circle are those who carelessly throw their trash everywhere. The punishment for them is to keep all the trash they threw inside their own pockets and let it rot and smell there.

3rd Circle – Raucous
The people who are in this circle are those whose voices are loud that they already distract other people from what they are doing. The punishment for them is to stay in a room all alone and listening to all of the deafening noise that they produced three times louder than it is originally.

4th Circle – Gluttonous
The people who are in this circle are those who do not share food with their classmates and also those people who get the food of their classmates without their permission. The punishment for those people who do not share food and for those who get the food without permission is to eat the left-over food in the canteen.

5th Circle – Rebels
The people who are in this circle are those who disobey minor school rules like not wearing complete uniform and ID and for the boys, not cutting their hair. The punishment for them is to write an essay about their violation repeatedly on 100 whole manila paper.

6th Circle – Liars
The people who are in this circle are those who cheat in exams and lie about their grades to their parents. The punishment for those who cheat in exams is that they are forced to memorize all the answers of the exams that they cheated. While the punishment for those who lie about their grades to their parents are that they are constantly hearing scolding voices of their parents until they go crazy.

7th Circle – Wild
The people who are in this circle are those who go crazy around the school campus and cannot control their desires to distract everyone, including the teachers, from what they are doing. The punishment for those who are wild is that they are forced to walk with chains on their hands and feet to restrain them from moving.

8th Circle – Disrespectful
The people who are in this circle are those who talk back to teachers and those who talk behind the teachers’ back. The punishment for those to talk back and those who talk behind is that their lips are sewn shut.

9th Circle – Fake
The people who are in this circle are those who fake their own personalities so that they can fit in the crowd, they lie about their own hobbies and their own lifestyle. The punishment for those who fake themselves is that they are only to speak the truth or else a painful hot sensation will be felt in their chest area.

Finally, we reached the end of our journey. As I walked, a wild student suddenly grabbed the brooch in my hand and stabbed the needle in my arm. I saw blood seeping through my uniform and I fainted.
I woke up and realized that everything was just a dream and hopefully, I will not have to see it in reality.
