Inspiring
a Nation
Our country, the Philippines, is
filled with people with different religions. Some are Muslims, some are
Buddhists, some are Born Again Christians, and some are Catholics. But
recently, Pope Francis’ visit captured the hearts of different people of
different genders and religions.
Me, as a Born Again Christian, I do
not believe or support saints but I do respect the opinions of other people about
saints. At first, I didn’t care about the visit of Pope Francis here in the
Philippines for I will not attend any of his mass.
The news about his arrival filled the
radio, television and it even became a topic in our classroom. I started to
become curious of how influential Pope is. I started listening to the news
about him and started to look at his pictures in the internet. There was one thing
that caught my attention, his smile.
That radiant smile that I believe can
change the mood of a sad person to be a happy person. It is like telling you to
never give up and keep on moving forward, I can feel that it is an encouraging
smile for everyone.
As a student, it will be forever in my
heart and mind to encourage myself to be a part of the success of our nation.
One of the reasons of it is I can say, the smile of Pope Francis. A smile of
his can really inspire everyone can and can really inspire a nation.
“When you lose the capacity to dream,
you lose the capacity to love, and the
energy of this love is lost.” – Pope Francis
